A Message From Deb Dupnik, NCH Executive Director
Last month I asked our community to make a donation of your time and talents by volunteering to serve on an NCH committee. We have had an overwhelming response and are thankful for all of our new volunteers! This month I am making a request to each of you to consider a modest donation of $10, $20 or even $50 to help support the work we do. Since 1974, the National Center for Homeopathy (NCH) has worked hard to make more and more consumers aware of this very special and elegant system of individualized medicine. Here is a sampling of some of the work NCH is doing to advocate and educate for homeopathy:
  • Improving our website, making it mobile friendly, and updating our database to improve the experience for over 3.4 million visitors
  • Producing four issues annually of our magazine, Homeopathy Today
  • Publishing a redesigned monthly newsletter, The Homeopathic Report
  • Offering monthly educational webinars
  • Producing successful and relevant annual conferences--the 2019 conference on Brain Health featured world-renowned speakers and CEUs available for CCHs, Nurses and NDs
  • Reinvigorating the popular study group program with a new study guide: Homeopathy 101: Using a Homeopathy Kit at Home
  • Advocating for the right to choose homeopathy as a healthcare option
  • Developing a new Regional One-Day Educational Seminar: Homeopathy for Everyone: How to Use a Homeopathic Kit at Home
  • Working collaboratively with other homeopathic organizations
We are able to do all of this because of the generous donations we receive from each of you. I ask you to show your support of homeopathy by making a tax deductible donation now to help increase our outreach efforts to those who are eager for alternative treatment options. We need your assistance now, more than ever, as we continue in our efforts to make homeopathy a household word.

Dr. Paul Herscu and Dr. Amy Rothenberg
How were you introduced to homeopathy and what was the moment you realized this was something you wanted to dedicate your life to?
Amy: I was introduced to homeopathy during my naturopathic medical school education and consider it one of the wonderful, effective tools in my doctor bag. With naturopathic medicine, we aim to treat the whole person, address the underlying cause of illness, stimulate the patient's inherent healing capacity and act as teacher and guide with regard to healthy lifestyle, diet, exercise and more. Homeopathy fits right into that philosophy and equation and is a cornerstone of my practice.
Paul: I was in college, studying premed, thinking of doing invasive cardiology. After a long bike trip in the rain, I developed a fever and later developed acute arthritis. My doctor said it would go away in six months. But just then a friend recommended homeopathy.

Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis was induced in rats by Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA). The rats were divided into six groups: Sham control; Arthritis control; Standard treatment indomethacin (0.25 mg × 5 days), Guaiacum Off. Mother Tincture (1 ml × 5 days) treated; Guaiacum Off. (30c × 5 days) treated; Guaiacum Off. (200c × 5 days) treated. Anti-rheumatic activity was examined through physical, urinary, serum parameters.
It was observed that body weight, ankle and knee diameter, urinary parameters, glucosamine, calcium, creatinine, phosphate, etc. levels were significantly affected. After treatment with Guaiacum in all three regimes (MT, 30c, 200c), was associated with normalization of these parameters compared to control group. These findings suggest that homeopathic Guaiacum Off. possesses anti-rheumatic and anti-oxidant activity.
